According to Mydrivers, LG Innotek is developing a periscope zoom lens for Apple, which is expected to be used in iPhone smartphones from 2022 or 2023.
Apple’s competitor Samsung pioneered the periscope zoom lens in the Galaxy S20 series launched in January last year. Many other Android-based flagships from Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo and other companies also actively use similar modules.
In the iPhone 13 Pro, despite using new image sensors and larger lenses, the optical zoom is only 3x. The difference with Android flagships remains very, very large.

The addition of a periscope camera should noticeably change the design of the rear panel. And when you consider the rumors of ditching the bangs in favor of a hole for the front camera, then the iPhone 14 may well bring the biggest design update since 2017, when the iPhone X hit the market.
The presentation of the iPhone 14 is expected in September next year.
