Fully self-driving cars without drivers to hit public roads in Germany in 2022

Germany has passed a new law that will allow unmanned vehicles to travel on public roads across the country from 2022.

This new law, which supports commercial operations with self-driving vehicles, should attract the attention of self-driving car companies and related services.

The new law will allow unmanned vehicles to travel on the roads without the driver being required to drive. In Germany, tests have already been carried out on autonomous vehicles with a driver sitting behind the wheel.

So far, the law has been passed by the lower German parliament, after which it is to be passed by the upper house. The bill mentions unmanned passenger transport, bus transportation companies, travel between medical facilities and nursing homes, and other types of unmanned travel.

This year, the number of permits for the use of self-driving cars on public roads has skyrocketed in different parts of the world. In China and the United States, similar vehicles are widely used in some cities.
