The federal government announced the release of another R$ 500 million for regions of Brazil affected by the rains. The announcement was made during the visit of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to Petrópolis, in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro, which was heavily hit by a storm, which left people dead and missing.
Pope Francis Solidarity
Pope Francis offered solidarity to the victims of the tragedy in Petrópolis. He sent a telegram to the city’s bishop, Dom Gregório Paixão Neto, asking him to convey condolences to the victims’ families.
