Funding of 2.45 million euros in ten municipalities from the Solidarity Fund of the Ministry of Immigration

Funding of 2.455 million euros will be received by ten municipalities from the Solidarity Fund of the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum, in the context of supporting local communities that contribute to the management of migration.

Specifically, at the invitation of the ministry, the municipalities of Paionia, Drama, Zitsa, Alexandria, Katerini, Corinth, Kavala, Veria, Larissa and Haidari will be subsidized for infrastructure projects, following proposals submitted by local needs.

The Municipality of Paionia will be financed for pedestrian service infrastructures on the road Axioupolis-Polykastro-Nea Kavala (360,000 euros), the Municipality of Drama for the renovation of the yard of the primary school of Xiropotamos (135,000 euros), the Municipality of Zitsa for the repair of sidewalks Ioannina-Konitsis street (150,000 euros) and the Municipality of Alexandria for the renovation of the surrounding area of ​​the Alexandria conference center and the installation of instruments in two playgrounds (205,000 euros). Also, the Municipality of Katerini for the renovation of Evangelika park and installation of fitness equipment (105,000 euros), the Municipality of Corinth for infrastructure improvement near the open structure (210,000 euros), the Municipality of Kavala for opening a secondary main road.000 in the area of ​​Perigialio (350) the Municipality of Veria for the upgrade of a school complex of the Community of Agia Varvara (170,000 euros), the Municipality of Larissa for the renovation of settlements in the area of ​​Koutsocheros (550,000 euros) and the Municipality of Chaidari for the functional upgrade of utilities in the area of ​​Ano Afaia (220,000 euros).

In total, as mentioned in the relevant announcement of the ministry, 18,792,741.07 euros have been allocated through the Solidarity Fund in 31 municipalities across the territory for a total of 60 projects.
