Funds: All critical milestones for professionals

By Dimitris Katsaganis

An eight-day countdown is “running” for applications for the 72 installments from the affected entrepreneurs.

In particular, until January 31, 2022, employers and self-employed persons who belonged to industries affected by the pandemic or closed by state order for health reasons can include their debts for the period of lockdown and severe restrictive measures (March 2020 – July 2021) in the regulation of up to 36 interest-free installments or the 37-72 interest-free (2.5%) installments.

In the meantime, with a circular of the Ministry of Labor, the lists of the affected KAD that had been announced by YPOIK were consolidated with those that had been announced by the Ministry. Working.

However, so far only the online services have been opened for the coron debts of the affected professionals and not yet for the coron debts of the affected employers.

Moreover, the number of applications of the affected professionals for the 72 installments is low (around 30,000).

It is for these reasons that the competent scenario of e-EFKA is considered as basic the scenario of extending the deadline for submitting an application for this regulation for at least one month, ie until February 28, 2022.

It is reminded that this setting is “autonomous” from the other settings. That is, if an entrepreneur misses the 72 installments, it does not mean that the other settings (eg 120 installments) that he may have will be lost. The reverse is also true. That is, if one misses another setting (eg 120 doses), one will not miss the 72-dose setting.

Deadlines for subsidies

At the same time, the deadline for submitting applications for the subsidy of contributions and salaries under the “Co-operation” mechanism for the current month is open (until January 31, 2022) for those companies that had a turnover reduction of at least 20% between April 2020 – March 2021.

Also, the deadlines are open for the tax-insurance companies (affected and not) for the inclusion in the subsidy program of 100% of the contributions for the employment of the unemployed and, at the same time, the “First stamp” (subsidy with 1,200 euros for the employment unemployed without previous service).

Finally in the 120 installments

In the meantime, the application platform for the adjustment of the 120 installments was closed on December 31, 2021 – “definitively”, as competent executives report to “K” – and for those self-employed who had applied by the beginning of October 2019 to determine their debts, but he had not done so.

The deadline for contributions in 2022

By January 31, all employees in the country must choose an insurance category for 2022. It is reminded that this option concerns the monthly contributions of main insurance, health, auxiliary and lump sum. Any professional who does not choose a category, will automatically be included in the first.

What applies to the Auxiliary Capital Insurance Fund

Those self-employed lawyers, notaries and engineers, as well as certain categories of freelancers, are insured for the first time from January 1, 2022 onwards, are compulsorily subject to their supplementary insurance at TEKA.

The self-employed, salaried lawyers and salaried engineers can choose between different insurance categories, which correspond to different amounts of monthly payment. The classification in one of the insurance categories is mandatory and is done with free choice after submitting an electronic application through the electronic service of e-EFKA.

The choice of insurance category is independent for each insurance branch. The possibility of choosing an insurance category is renewed annually.

The supplementary insurance contributions for TEKA are the same as the contributions of the supplementary insurance branch of e-EFKA (“old” ancillary).

The amount of the monthly contributions is determined through the insurance category to which the insured belongs after a free choice between the three insurance categories (as in the “old” auxiliary), as follows (until 31 May 2022): 1st: 42 euros, 2nd: 51 euros, 3rd: 61 euros. From 1/6/2022 the categories are as follows: 1st: 39 euros, 2nd: 47 euros and 3rd: 56 euros.

Payments are made to all banks through the Interbank System (DIAS), with payment orders or with direct account debit (standing order).

The payment of the contributions by the lawyers to TEKA depends on the immediate cash movement of credit of their individual account. If the contributions are not paid, their individual account is not credited and their individual account can not be credited without cash payment of the contributions. For this there can be no payment through accounting offset against the promissory notes.

As for the contributions of engineers (registered in the TEE) and lawyers (registered in their respective bar association), they do not necessarily have to be paid in TEKA, as the inclusion in the insurance has been disconnected from the status and now a basic element of the inclusion in the insurance is the beginning of professional activity in the Tax Office.

In relation to the change of contact details in the Register, TEKA derives the data of the register of its insured from e-EFKA. Therefore, the change of contact details is done either in the Registry Department in any e-EFKA branch or online in the electronic services of e-EFKA.

Insurance information is provided by e-EFKA through its electronic services. A necessary condition in order to be granted insurance information is that the obligor has paid / settled / settled all his debts to both TEKA and e-EFKA.
