It is one thing to try to see death more naturally and another what some marketers did with a funeral home after showing their lack of common sense by putting together a Christmas advertising campaign, which rather seems like a joke in very bad taste.
In the video that the Iván Martínez Funeral Home, originally from Chile, shared on their social networks, you can see how they transport a supposed corpse, which turns out to be a woman dressed in the typical Santa Claus outfit, who comes out of the coffin to start dancing with the drivers of the float a joyous Christmas song.
The song All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey was chosen by the publicists of this funeral home to perform a “fun” choreography. We suppose that they were trying to show that Christmas can brighten even the darkest moment when, somehow, we have to face death.
Perhaps their intentions could have been good, but what we cannot believe is that after seeing the questionable result they dared to go ahead and publish the campaign.
And if all of the above weren’t enough, the model in the video takes her time to be sexy, as she finishes off by blowing a provocative kiss to the audience while she’s back inside the coffin. There is no respect even for the dead.
Obviously, Internet users did not take long to issue their comments, where they noted the lack of respect and zero empathy of the people who authorized such a strange campaign.
Iván Martínez Funeral Home wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.😊🔥 #Merry Christmas #funerariaivánmartínez #viejitapascuera #December #mortuary pic.twitter.com/orKTOYtPnp
