Funeral Homes Won’t Charge for Burial of Texas School Victims

The two funeral homes in Uvalde, Texas, will cover the funeral costs of those killed in a shooting at Robb Elementary School on Tuesday. So far, 21 deaths have been recorded in the shooting, 19 children and 2 adults.

In a Facebook post, Hillcrest Memorial Funeral Home said, “We fight together as a community and we will become one in this time of need.”

“Hillcrest will offer assistance to these families with no-cost funerals for everyone involved in today’s horrific events. Pray for our amazing little city.”

The funeral home said it was “speechless…our phones are ringing with the wails of the entire state.”

In addition, Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary has stated that it has supported the Uvalde community for over 60 years. “Today our purpose is stronger than ever. We are here for the people of Uvalde and our professionals are at Robb School helping the police.”

“As the situation develops, and we have the opportunity to support our community, no families will be charged for our services,” he said.
