An enraged crowd attacked today (25/5) the motorcade of the mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglou, who attended a ceremony in a renovation project in the district of Eyup.
The crowd, according to CNN Turk, attacked the motorcade vehicles, disapproving of the mayor, as they protested against the construction of a building in a local park as part of the project.
A protester, trying to stop one of the vehicles of the mayor’s motorcade, fell and was injured.
The police dispersed the protest and Imamoglou and his entourage were removed from the area.
