Fuvest opens registration for the 2023 vestibular this Monday (15)

One of the main entrance exams in Brazil, Fuvest, which is the main means of entry to the University of São Paulo (USP), opened registration for the 2023 contest this Monday (15).

Applications can be made until the 23rd of September through from this site upon payment, which can be made until September 27, of a fee of R$ 191.

At this stage of registration for Fuvest, the student must decide which career and which courses to apply for. It is also necessary to provide the requested data and socioeconomic questionnaire.

Fuvest is the main way to enter USP. There is also the possibility of admission through SiSU, with the score of the National High School Exam (Enem).

At USP, vacancies for undergraduate courses are divided into three categories.

Wide Competition (AC), for all candidates with no prerequisite requirement, Public School (EP), for those who, regardless of income, attended high school in Brazilian public schools, and Pretos, Pardos e Indígenas (PPI) , for self-declared black, mixed-race and indigenous candidates who, regardless of income, have completed their entire secondary education in public schools.

The self-declaration of black and brown candidates will be verified by a Heteroidentification Commission, based on “exclusively phenotypic criteria”.

“For the 2023 entrance exam, USP will offer 11,147 places. Of the 8,230 vacancies offered by FUVEST, 4,961 will be reserved for AC candidates, 2,173 vacancies for EP candidates and 1,096 for EP/PPI students.

There are still another 2,917 vacancies offered by SiSU.

The 1st phase tests will be held on December 4th. The 2nd phase tests are scheduled for January 8th and 9th, 2023. The specific skills tests will take place between January 11th and 14th next year.

The first call for Fuvest will be announced on January 30th.
