Fux and Pacheco create a commission of jurists to simplify tax processes

The president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Luiz Fux, and the president of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), made official this Wednesday (23) the creation of a commission of jurists to improve the legal and tax process in the scope of legislation on the subject.

“We have the phenomenon of unbridled litigation in the administrative and tax sphere, and our scope is to improve the legislation”, said Fux, adding that the intention is to stick to the various regulations of tax and administrative processes and streamline them on a daily basis. .

According to Fux, the commission aims to study how to eliminate “formalities and unbridled litigation” that cause excessive judicialization in related issues.

The 18 jurists of the commission will have up to 180 days to carry out, finalize and deliver the work to the Federal Senate.

Asked about the impact of this commission on matters such as tax reform, Fux also stated that the idea is to “interconnect” the themes, since the process of applying tax laws also depends on laws that guide it.

“It’s always like this, the judge needs the raw material, otherwise he judges in a vacuum. Both the law and the process need to go hand in hand,” he declared.
