G. Amyra announcement for thousands of new charging points for electric vehicles in the two years 2021-2022

There will be thousands of new charging points for electric vehicles in the country in the two years 2021-2022, according to data cited by the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy George Amyras, answering a topical question earlier today by ND MP Fotini Pipili about the “lack of special infrastructure for the use of electric cars “.

“According to the data of the Association of Car Dealers Importers, from January 2013 to October 2021, that is, in eight years, a total of 8,717 new electric vehicles were registered in our country. In the years 2020 and 2021, 7,510 cars were registered. What does this mean? “That in these two years we have 7,500 cars out of a total of 8,717, that is, 1,207 electric cars, all of which were classified from 2013 to 2020”, said the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy.

Mr. Amyras also said that today there are about 1,100 public charging points in Greece, 400 of which belong to PPC, exceeding the European target for one charger per 10 electric vehicles. At the same time, 308 municipalities have submitted proposals to build charging points which will be financed by the Green Fund and the Recovery Fund. Thus, within the year we will have 10,291 new charging points for electric vehicles in the country and we do not stop there. in the coming year and in the coming months they will have built almost eleven thousand charging points. […] we will have thousands of other charging points, in urban and long-distance areas, in the network of highways and in points of interest of boarding, transiting but also in private areas with public access “.

Ms. Pipili referred to a study by the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers, according to which Greece is only in the penultimate position of European countries in terms of the number of chargers per 100 kilometers, which makes it very difficult to extend electrification throughout the territory. He therefore called on the present Deputy Minister to inform what moves and incentives the Ministry of Environment will promote to speed up the installation of chargers for electric cars. He also called on the ministry to raise the issue with the European Commission so that European carmakers can provide common technology for all types of electric cars and avoid charging malfunctions.

“Subsidizing electricity bills for all”

“The electricity bill subsidy will be provided to all consumers for September, October, November and December 2021, and the government will continue to support consumers as long as this global crisis lasts,” he said. The Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, George Amyras, answering, earlier today, in the Parliament, a topical question of the SYRIZA MP Socrates Famellos about the ministerial decision to be issued.

As stated in particular by the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy, for consumers who are contracted to floating electricity supply tariffs, which include adjustment clauses related to the wholesale market price, in addition to the beneficiaries of the social service tariff and the unpaid tariff is set for September at 30 euros per megawatt hour, while for October at 60 euros per megawatt hour, and for the months of November and December a subsidy is set at 130 euros per megawatt hour. For consumers who are subject to floating supply tariffs that include wholesale price adjustment clauses, beneficiaries receive a monthly subsidy of 30 euros per megawatt hour in September, 80 euros per megawatt hour in October, and two euros per megawatt hour. months of the year, November and December, the subsidy was set at 150 euros per megawatt hour.

Mr. Amyras was called to answer a topical question of SYRIZA MP Socrates Famellos, who spoke of an extreme crisis of accuracy in energy. The MP said that two months have passed since the announcement of the Prime Minister at the TIF, but the government has not yet issued the ministerial decision to subsidize the electricity bills, although in a shorter period of time, “it managed to deliver PPC to individuals”.

“The government, in order to support the citizens, who are affected by an unprecedented, unprecedented wave of precision, is obstructing while to provide the until recently public electricity company, even at a time when the government itself declares that it is profitable and has significant prospects. he did not waste any time and in fact bypassed the Parliament and bypassed the society “, said Socrates Famellos and raised the issue of inadequacy, saying that the government” fails to understand the problem of accuracy, that is why it has already made three different statements about the system “while leaving consumers vulnerable because they do not have the political will to intervene in the energy market.”

“Mr. Mitsotakis committed to 80% coverage, at least, of the additional costs to all consumers. So we ask what will happen to the professionals, what will happen to the farmers, what will happen to the water services, what will happen to the “Finally, the publication of the Ministerial Decision, so that the society and the whole Greek real economy understand what will be its tool of support”, said the SYRIZA MP who also called on the government to clarify what will happen with the purchase of the natural gas, and whether there are reports of 200% increases in bills. “Mr. Amyras, you have to face our legacy. In the four and a half years of the SYRIZA government, the cost of electricity has not increased by a single euro, in order to support consumers, households and businesses,” said Socrates Famellos.

“Indeed, yes, dear colleague Mr. Famelle, we have to confront in relation to PPC in what situation we received it from SYRIZA and where it is today”, commented the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy George Amyras and added: “Where did we receive PPC? It was a bankrupt company, the share had fallen below one euro, its share capital and the value of the company had fallen to 130 million euros, what is the situation today? weeks ago it went out for a share capital increase in the market, asked for 1.3 billion euros and was offered 4 billion euros. The increase was exceeded three times, without burdening any consumer. market, with long-term investment strategies of 87%, this increase will go to an investment program in “green” energy, where you had done nothing. with lignite “.

“Mr. Amyras tells us that he was very successful in raising his share capital, but I do not know if this is reflected in the accounts of consumers. We ask him why consumers pay more. Now he says that shareholders will win, but here the State is leaving. Do you know any homeowner who is leaving a lucrative business? lignite units, because you have made a mistake in planning the adequacy of the country “, commented the SYRIZA MP and insisted:” We know today that the confectioneries and bakeries of Athens pay more than 1,000 euros more electricity every month. This means that they lose an employee And you have not answered yet. Corresponding amounts are paid by the farmers and you have not answered yet. We ask you specifically. ministerial decision? Because because of your weaknesses, while there was a wholesale price of 52 euros in November 2020, today the average wholesale is 220 “.

“We as a government are on the side of consumers and that is why we support them – and let them do what you do not hear them – as follows: Consumers who are contracted for electricity bills but do not include wholesale clause The unit price of the unit is set at EUR 20 per megawatt hour for each month of this implementation, in all cases the grant is awarded for the first 300 Kw of each “The subsidy is given up to that limit, up to this limit”, said the Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy.

For natural gas, George Amyras said that “the vast majority of industrial customers enjoy protection at any price increases as they buy natural gas at constant 2020 prices. For domestic consumers DEPA is already committed to providing and providing a discount of at least 15% on gas and in fact this project has been entrusted with a branded control mechanism in order to ensure all the guarantees of commercial confidentiality and the law of free competition “.

“In the case of natural gas, as well as in matters of electricity accuracy, the government will show – as it has done – the appropriate social sensitivity. We are by the side of the citizens,” said Mr. Amyras, adding: “We will not leave anyone And as we have already come forward with the first € 600 million towards the Energy Transition Fund – the first country in the European Union to do so – so we will continue to do so. “a PPC as you had torn it up during SYRIZA. You had turned it into a bankrupt, discredited company”.
