G. Bratakos (EVEA): Extension of the measure of suspension of the payment of the special solidarity contribution

The president of EVEA, Giannis Bratakos, requested the extension of the measure of suspension of the payment of the special solidarity contribution to the incomes arising from the surplus value of transfer of shares, dividends and business activity for the tax year 2022, in a letter to the Minister of Finance, Storakos Christos.

As the president of EVEA states in his letter, “the suspension of the payment of the special solidarity contribution for the tax years 2020, 2021 and 2022 and for specific, per year, categories of income, as well as the intention of the government for its final abolition from the tax year 2023 is undoubtedly a very positive measure of its economic policy towards the reduction of tax burdens “.

However, as Mr. Bratakos points out, especially for the tax year 2022, only the incomes obtained from paid work in the private sector are exempted from the special solidarity contribution.

In this context, the President of EVEA asked to consider “the possibility of extending this favorable measure, provided the fiscal balance is ensured, to the income resulting from the goodwill of transferring shares, dividends and business activity, as provided for the 2020 tax and 2021 “.

The satisfaction of this request will contribute “to the development of the investment activity and the liquidity of the economy and consequently to the support of the business community” noted Mr. Bratakos.
