Alpha Bank, as the Coordinator Main Underwriter of the Public Offer for the introduction of the bonds of the CPLP company, made a decisive contribution to the over-covering, by 3.6 times, of the issuance of the bonds of CPLP Shipping Holdings PLC on the Athens Stock Exchange.
Supporting the development perspective of Greek entrepreneurship is a priority for Alpha Bank, as demonstrated by both the strengthening of its business loan portfolio, returning the Bank to first place in business lending, as well as its leading role in all recent bond issues that approached 2 billion euros in two years
The issue was characterized by a significant success with the participation of more than 7,200 investors, gathering a total valid demand of Euro 359.6 million, thus exceeding the issue amount by 3.6 times, while the whole process was actively and effectively supported by Alpha Bank.
The General Director of Wholesale Banking of Alpha Bank, Mr. Yiannis Emiris, was present at the start of the trading of the bonds of CPLP Shipping Holdings PLC at the Athens Exchange, with Capital Product Partners as the guarantor, who said:
“Alpha Bank, the Bank that pioneered the opening of the Greek capital market for our country’s shipping companies, continues to actively support Greek shipping in raising financing for its activities. As in November 2021, we are proud that, in a challenging times for the international markets, as the Coordinating Main Contractor, we also managed to play a crucial role in covering the second bond issuance of CPLP, which is another guarantee for the future development of the sector. The dynamics of Greek shipping, such as it also certifies the confidence of the investing public, it is indisputable, and we, at Alpha Bank, will continue to be by the side of the sector, supporting its development prospects”.

It is worth noting that this is the second bond issue in a row by CPLP Shipping Holdings PLC, as it was preceded by a similar issue in November 2021, with a 5.34 times coverage of the initial amount.
A common feature of the two issues is the participation of Alpha Bank as the Coordinating Main Underwriter, which is a practical proof of the broader leading role played by the Bank recently in the issues of bonds of Greek shipping companies.
