G. Georgantas: Aid to livestock companies before Easter

The granting of aid to livestock companies, in accordance with the rules of state aid, is promoted by an amendment that has been submitted to the bill for GEMI. As explained by the Minister of Rural Development and Food George Georgantas, speaking earlier in Parliament, there is a large increase in feed in recent months, as a result of the energy crisis initially and the events that followed.

“Based on the state aid rules and in order to support our breeders in the feed market, there is a provision deciding to support breeders. With a ministerial decision to be issued, the amount of aid to be decided will be unsecured, for “so that our breeders can receive it”, said the Minister of Rural Development and Food and added: “The amount of this aid will be a percentage of the turnover of the whole year 2021, in order to make its distribution more fair. Our goal “is to be able to pay to their accounts before Easter, the amounts which are due to them and which are estimated to be over 45 million euros”.
