Clear language against any tension and polarization is used by B1 MP from the North Athens sector of the New Democracy and former minister George Koumoutsakos in an interview with the newspaper “Kyriakatiki Kontra”.
Mr. Koumoutsakos emphasizes that “this leads to an even greater cycle of intensity, social and political, from which we will all lose” and adds that “we need moderation, we need moderation and a calm approach”.
Violent political discourse – with its most characteristic expression the infamous “motto” of SYRIZA “whether we end them or they end us”, – very often becomes a prelude to the violent act, adds George Koumoutsakos.
Pointing out the vertical sharpening of the political discourse of the last days, Mr. Koumoutsakos underlines that he stands against policies and attitudes that underestimate the citizen because, as he characteristically states, he wants to be “together and by the side of the citizens”.
“Being modest and calm in a period of tension is a sign of strength. It requires a lot of strength when the extremes push towards behaviors that are harmful to the Republic”, notes Mr. Koumoutsakos and clarifies: “no matter how great the pressure is, I am not going to “to change. This is how I went and this is how I will go. I will not make discounts on the quality of public speech.”
