Government spokesman Yiannis Oikonomou accuses SYRIZA of distortion, while alternatively attributing a “lack of basic understanding” regarding the opposition official’s reaction to what he said on the subject of wiretapping at noon in the political editors’ briefing.
Specifically, in a post on Twitter, Mr. Economou noted:
“In SYRIZA, they either lack even the basic ability to understand a clear statement or, as a regular tactic, they distort them”.

It is noted that earlier today, as “confirmation” that other political figures besides Nikos Androulakis were being monitored, SYRIZA had interpreted the response of the government representative to the regular briefing of the political editors that “the government and the Prime Minister are not aware of an issue similar to that of Mr. Androulakis”.
In fact, in a statement issued by the headquarters of Koumoundourou, it is stated, among other things, that with his answer, Mr. Economou “did not rule out the existence of a similar issue, but if there is, it is not known to Mr. Mitsotakis either. In other words, he discounted that and other surveillances to be revealed, he will charge them all to the deposed Kontoleon and his nephew and until the day before yesterday instead, Mr. Dimitriadis”.
