NATO has a responsibility to protect and defend all allies, “which is why the invasion of Ukraine has strengthened our presence on the eastern flank,” said NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg at the Alliance Foreign Ministers’ Summit in the North.
“We assure you that there is no room for misunderstanding, miscalculations in Moscow about our readiness to protect and defend all allies,” Stoltenberg said.
He also said that NATO allies had provided support to Ukraine for many years, training tens of thousands of Ukrainian troops and now providing equipment, adding that there was an urgent need for additional support from Ukraine.
