The European Commission approved the program of the new NSRF “Environment and Climate Change 2021-27” with a budget of 3.6 billion euros.
As the Deputy Minister of Development and Investments Yiannis Tsakiris notes in his post on social media:
“With the approval and implementation of the “Environment and Climate Change” business program, we are laying the fundamental foundations for the immediate response to multidimensional crises such as environmental ones that lead to humanitarian ones at the same time. Resilience to crises is what we basically calculated in the design of this particular operational program but also that which governs the horizontal intervention logic of all our development programs. In this context, we are committing significant amounts from the new “Environment and Climate Change 2021-2027” program for energy efficiency projects, the promotion of renewable energy sources and energy infrastructures, which will contribute to addressing the energy crisis.
I sincerely thank all the relevant bodies and especially the Special Secretariat for the Management of ERDF and CS Programs and the Special Secretary Mr. George Zervos for our unbroken and excellent cooperation”.
