G20: Biden will meet with Macron and Pope Francis

The President of the United States Joe Biden will meet with his French counterpart Emanuel Macron on Friday in Rome, before its summit G20, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan announced on Tuesday.

Sullivan did not give further details about this meeting, which will take place shortly before since the beginning of the summit of the leaders of the most powerful countries in the world, according to telegrams from AFP and Reuters.

Since then, Washington has been trying to defuse tensions. Biden and Macron have already talked twice by phone after this crisis broke out, according to the same sources.

France, meanwhile, is seeking the blessings of the United States to form one European defense mechanism, a project that despite its efforts has not really progressed for 30 years.
