G20 in favor of cease-fire in Gaza and Lebanon – leaders want “just and lasting peace” in Ukraine

The G20 countries declare “united” that they “support the ceasefire” in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, in a joint statement they made public during the meeting in Rio de Janeiro, while they are in favor of “every constructive initiative” in order to have a “just and lasting peace” in Ukraine. “Expressing our deep concern at the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the escalation in Lebanon, we underline the urgent need to increase the flow of humanitarian aid and strengthen the protection of civilians,” the G20 member countries also emphasize of the world’s largest economies. “We welcome all (…) constructive initiatives” to bring about a just and “lasting” peace in Ukraine, says a joint statement from the summit of the world’s 20 largest economies — which includes Russia.
