G20, Zelensky: «Here are the 10 points needed to achieve peace»

Ten points to achieve peace: Ukrainian President Zelensky, in video link with the G20 in Bali, listed the ten “crucial” elements needed.

In the first place «the nuclear safety», then «safety food», followed by «safety energy». The fourth point is «the release of all prisoners and deportees», the fifth «the implementation of the Charter of the United Nations and the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and of world order», the sixth «the withdrawal of troops and the cessation of hostilities» and the seventh justice: «We have already proposed a resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations concerning an international compensation mechanism for the damages caused by the Russian war: we ask you to implement it».

The eighth element is “ecocide”, i.e. the “need to protect the environment immediately”, followed by the “escalation prevention: a risk that still exists and will remain until our safety is adequately guaranteed,” he explained. «Ukraine is not part of any alliance. And Russia was able to start this war precisely because Ukraine remained in the “grey zone” between the Euro-Atlantic world and Russian imperialism».

In the last place “the confirmation of the end of the war”: “when all the anti-war measures have been implemented, when security and justice have begun to be re-established, a document confirming the end of the war must be signed by the parties”.

Zelensky reiterated that he was convinced that «now is the time when Russia’s destructive war must and can be stopped». “This will save thousands of lives,” she added. But peace must be “just”, without compromise. The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, according to the Ukrainian president, has been transformed by the Russians “into a radioactive bomb that can explode at any moment. I consider even the possibility of such a scenario criminal. The same goes for the insane threats of nuclear weapons resorted to by Russian officials. Please use all your power to get Russia to abandon nuclear threats.”

And, on the energy crisis, “if Russia is trying to deprive Ukraine, Europe and all energy consumers in the world of price predictability and stability, the response should be a forced limitation of export prices for Russia».
