G7 discusses price cap for Russian energy sources

The G7 summit, which takes place in Germany, ends this Tuesday (28). However, on Monday night (27), the countries signaled what should appear in the final resolution of the meeting.

Among them are tools to reduce energy costs. And, quite possibly, limits will be set on the price of Russian energy sources. It is also possible that the import of gold from Russia will be banned.

The war in Ukraine also motivated another international organization to make impactful decisions in Europe: the nato the North Atlantic military treaty, has increased the number of military on standby for a rapid response to 300,000.

The number is practically eight times greater than the previous contingent placed on alert. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called the decision part of the “strategic competition” that Europe was thrust into because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
