G7 meeting next Thursday in Brussels on Russian invasion of Ukraine

A G7 meeting on the Russian invasion of Ukraine will be held next Thursday in Brussels, on the same day as the NATO and EU summits, the German government announced today.

The meeting will focus “mainly on the situation in Ukraine” and will take place in the framework of the NATO and European Union summits also being held in Brussels that day, German government spokeswoman Christian Hoffmann told a news conference. .

This year, Germany is chairing the G7, the Group of Seven most powerful economies in the world, which also includes the United States, France, Britain, Canada, Japan and Italy.

On the same day, NATO is organizing an emergency summit on the war in Ukraine, which will be attended by US President Joe Biden, who will make the trip to Brussels.

A meeting of EU heads of state and government will also be held on Thursday 24 March in Brussels, in the presence of the US President.
