Economist Gabriel Galípolo will be the executive secretary of the Ministry of Finance in the Lula government.
He was invited by the nominated minister Fernando Haddad and accepted the position.
He is 39 years old and was president of bank Fator and today has a financial consultancy. He is also an adviser to the Federation of Industries of the state of São Paulo, Fiesp.
In the past, he worked at the State Department of Economy and Planning when José Serra was governor of São Paulo. He is also close to Luiz Gonzaga Beluzzo, one of the economists close to the PT.
He approached Lula after participating in a live with the former president last year with other members of the financial market.
According to PT sources, at the time Lula was pleased to hear from him that not the entire market is against the former president and ideologically aligned with President Jair Bolsonaro, but that the professionals who work in this field want to do business, regardless of the political line of the occupant of the Plateau Palace.
Since then, he has been an informal adviser to Lula, Gleisi and also former mayor Fernando Haddad.
Earlier, the reporter Tainá Falcão had found out that Galípolo could be nominated by Haddad.
