The largest Chinese automobile company GAC (Guangzhou Automobile Group), which also produces cars of the Fiat, Honda, Mitsubishi and Toyota brands, today, August 23, officially announced a new, more affordable version of its second-generation GS8 crossover. It’s worth clarifying right away that at the moment the manufacturer plans to sell the new product exclusively on the local market, but, as practice shows, sooner or later GAC models also get outside of China, including Russia. The presented version received the sonorous name Exclusive Edition, and the price of this configuration in China is 202 thousand yuan – about 1.8 million rubles.
And despite its affordability, the urban crossover looks simply gorgeous. On the front side, you can see an impressive radiator grille and a bulging bumper with large “nostrils” – even BMW designers would envy such a “muzzle”. In addition, the body of the vehicle itself is quite impressive and vaguely resembles the Toyota Land Cruiser 300. Only the GAC has a more premium version with many silver decorative elements and large full-length roof rails. And I would also like to draw attention to the matrix diode headlights, which are located vertically and not horizontally – it looks very dignified.

In the cabin, of course, there is also something to see – a potential buyer gets a 7-seater salon of a fairly high class. Naturally, the manufacturer uses leather, which has also made its way to the door cards, and the seats (even the passenger one) have many flexible landing settings. This is another element that is usually found in top-level cars. Also immediately striking is a huge dashboard (of course, digital), which in this case is represented by an elongated display behind the steering wheel. An additional monitor is used to control the car and the multimedia system – it is simply huge, located horizontally and provides access to a lot of settings.
A potential buyer of the GAC GS8 Exclusive Edition will also receive a heated steering wheel, a ten-speaker Alpine sound system and an advanced set of smart driving assistants. And while flagship-level electric cars usually get this set of benefits, here under the hood is a turbocharged 2.0T GDI with 252 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque in front-wheel drive and with an Aisin automatic transmission.
