Samsung launched, this Wednesday (10), the new line of foldable devices, already enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI). The new Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 were presented to the public during Unpacked, which took place in Paris, and are already on pre-sale.
The launches are the expansion of Samsung AI, the South Korean company’s artificial intelligence, to foldables and their considerably larger screens. The technology was launched in January with the Galaxy 24 line and is present in 16 languages and more than 200 countries.
Samsung has used Corning Gorilla Glass VBicturs 2 and Armor Aluminum technologies to increase the durability of the foldable line, which are the lightest and thinnest ever launched by the company. Z Fol6 6 and Z Flip 6 are also equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, the most advanced processor in the line, which intensifies the visual performance of the devices.
Available in three colors (Silver Shadow, Pink and Navy), the Z Fold 6 is the new version of Samsung’s large-screen foldable. It comes with an upgrade that enhances the gaming experience, with a 1.6x larger Vapor Chamber camera, which improves the cooling system. The 7.6-inch screen offers an even brighter 2,600-nit display with Ray Tracing, a computer graphics technology used to create three-dimensional objects.
The Z Flip 6, in turn, has a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED FlexWindow display that was designed to work and meet the user’s needs even when not open. The camera now has a 50 MP Wide camera and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera, which improves performance for users looking for this functionality. Other new features include Nightography, which allows for capturing brighter videos even in the dark, and optical zoom that can reach up to 10x with the help of AI. The device is available in four colors: Silver Shadow, Yellow, Blue and Mint.
For those who buy online, two other colors are available for the Z Fold 6 (Crafted Black and White) and one for the Z Flip 6 (Peach).
The expansion of Galaxy AI has also reached Samsung’s headphones. Launched in two colors (Silver and White), the Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro come with a simultaneous translation function for those watching a class in another language, more accurate voice control and Blade Lights, which promise to improve the design and make the user experience more intuitive with a more pleasant aesthetic. The Pro version also comes with noise control with sensors for sirens and voices.
More sustainable folding
During the presentation of the new products, Annika Bizon, head of Brand & Channel Marketing at Samsung, highlighted the efforts made by the company to improve the materials used in the line to increase their durability without increasing the impact on nature.
“We strive to find the right materials for each component. Great for construction, great for design and, most importantly, materials that contribute to our vision of a more sustainable future. We are committed to expanding the use of recyclable materials while delivering unparalleled experiences,” said the executive.
Like the other devices launched this Wednesday (Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch 7 and Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6), the foldables and headphones will be equipped with the Galaxy A. The technology is already available to 66% of users of the Galaxy S24 models and should be integrated into the entire family of products from the South Korean company.
The new releases are now available for pre-sale and will be available to the public from July 24th. The prices of the new products have not been disclosed by Samsung.
