The attempt of the well-known jeweler George Tsagarakis to put a brake on the auction, which was originally scheduled for June 1 and concerns the Galerie Tsangarakis store in Kolonaki, which is finally expected to go under the hammer on July 6, fell on the rocks.
On the other hand, the businessman partially managed to increase the first offer price of the property by approximately 220,000 euros to 1.1 million euros from the 882,000 euros originally set by the foreclosure report.
However, the specific price is much lower than the amount of 2.3 million euros that was claimed to be the value of the well-known store, which is located in the center of Kolonaki.
The claims he filed in court
It should be noted that George Tsagarakis, last May, had filed a request before the Athens Court of First Instance requesting that the compulsory auction process be suspended for 6 months from the date it was originally scheduled to take place, while at the same time requesting an increase in the amount of 2.3 million euros the starting price, as according to him the confiscation report contained an error, in which the first offer price was set at 882,000 euros.
As for the request for the suspension of the auction, this was rejected by the court, which ruled that there was no evidence to show that Mr. Tsagarakis would be able to pay the entire debt within six months. (the total debt for which the seizure was made amounts to 200,000 euros) but neither that if the specific period of suspension expires, a larger auction could be reached.
The claim that it is worth 2.3 million euros is unfounded
In relation, now, with the correction of the price of the first offer, the Athens Court of First Instance ruled that it should be set at 1.1 million euros and not at the amount of 882,000 euros that was initially valued at the property, while judging the claim as unfounded. of the businessman that its value is 2.3 million euros.
So, Mr. Tsagarakis managed to achieve a partial victory and a partial defeat, with the store that still houses the jewelry store Galerie Tsangarakis taking the road to the auction on July 6, unless some other action is mediated.
The privileged position of the store
This store-apartment, located in a privileged position on the corner of 10 Neophytou Bomba and Kapsali streets, just 50 meters from the square, has an area of 178 sq.m. and percentage of co-ownership on the plot and the common areas of the building.
The disadvantages of the store include the fact that it has an entrance from the main entrance of the apartment building on Neophytou Bomba Street, something that is common for the older ground floor apartments of the apartment buildings in Kolonaki, which have changed use and function as commercial stores.
In the crosshairs of the auctions and two houses
This is not the only asset of the well-known jeweler who will face the electronic hammer, as two houses belonging to Mr. Tsagarakis in the southern suburbs have also been targeted by the auctions.
One is located in Vari and the starting price has been set at 2.6 million euros while the other is located in Voula with the first offer price amounting to 562,000 euros. Both auctions are scheduled to take place on June 22.
