The Federal Police (PF) of São Paulo seized six gallons of an Argentine olive oil brand that has the trade forbidden by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) in Brazil, on the morning of Friday (21). The fulfillment of a search and seizure warrant occurred in the city of Jundiaí, in the interior of São Paulo.
The warrant was issued by the 2nd Federal Court of Jundiaí (SP) and fulfilled in a commercial establishment of the city. On site were found six gallons of illegal olive oil. The investigated case was not found in the trade.
According to police, he has been acted two years ago by carrying 64 gallons of olive oil in the Marília region, a city also located in the interior of São Paulo. The suspect must be responsible for the crime of smuggling, with a penalty of up to five years in prison.
The investigation began last year after an anonymous report that the Argentine mark of origin was sold in the national territory, even with the ban on the supervisory body.
