Gamers added FSR 2.0 support to Red Dead Redemption 2: graphics got better, FPS increased

Some time ago, an enthusiast named PotatoOfDoom published on the Nexus Mods platform his custom modification for the Cyberpunk 2077 game, which replaced the NVIDIA DLSS upscaling technology with FSR 2.0 from AMD. Then the developer managed to significantly increase the performance in the game, and visual improvements were also noticeable even for those who do not own an RTX series video card. Surprisingly, now the work of PotatoOfDoom has served as the foundation for the creation of a similar mod, only for Red Dead Redemption 2 – gamers can replace NVIDIA technology with a new solution from AMD in a few clicks, getting a noticeable performance boost.

The author of the mod in the description of his project noted that his modification is based on the work of PotatoOfDoom, and brings support for AMD FideltyFX Super Resolution 2.0 to Red Dead Redemption 2, which will be extremely useful for gamers who cannot access NVIDIA DLSS upscaling technology due to that they don’t have a graphics card from the RTX series. In this case, they can replace the game client files, having received AMD upscaling support – FPS will really increase due to the installation of the mod, while gamers will also notice some visual improvements on the screen. Moreover, if the player has a video card with DLSS support, he should still try installing the mod – there is a huge chance that the FPS will still increase. Yes, and in terms of graphics, there are still minor improvements – they are shown in the screenshots.

Also, the mod developer decided that he would support the project together with the community – he posted the source code of the modification on GitHub, stating that he would process errors that may well arise with FSR 2.0 technology as they become available, but the community can also do this can also lend a hand.
