Japanese video game publisher Konami Digital Entertainment, as part of its research and development, is recruiting metaverse and NFT specialists to “build the system and develop services.”
The Tokyo gaming giant announced that Web3 experts will be involved in the research and development of the latest Web3 and Metaverse technologies for implementation in gaming content. The company plans to launch a service where gamers can trade in-game virtual items pegged to non-fungible tokens via a blockchain platform.
NFTs can be used as items in the game, participate in fan communities and events, interact with other services and communities, and enhance the user experience. The company claims that the developed system for trading in-game NFTs fully complies with the “recommendations for DLT-based games” established by the Computer Entertainment Suppliers Association, the Japan Online Game Association and the Mobile Content Forum.
To strengthen the team and accelerate development in new directions, the company is looking for experts in the fields of programming, design, direction, law and production. All job applicants must have experience with Web3, Metaverse, and Blockchain projects.
The number of companies entering the Web3 and Metaverse market is growing. Last month, the Walt Disney Company posted a job opening for a lawyer to work on a “fast track and aggressive schedule” with emerging technologies including NFT and DeFi. In January, Tess Rinearson, head of Twitter’s crypto-currency division, announced the search for an NFT and DAO specialist for the new Blockchain and Cryptocurrency division. According to the business social network LinkedIn, the number of ads attracting employees to the cryptocurrency industry has increased by 395% over the past year.
