Yesterday, October 21, Philips officially introduced to the world its new line of gaming monitors and various accessories called Evnia, the main feature of which is not quite the usual gaming design. Instead of aggressive shapes, colors and decorative elements, the manufacturer uses a design that, during the official presentation, is the epitome of freshness and elegance. It is these qualities that the manufacturer tried to implement in its new gaming monitor, since the usual black monitors with red accents and bright RGB backlighting have long gone out of fashion.
The reason is quite simple – the audience of consumers has changed a lot:
“Our clients have changed – they have matured noticeably, they have a pretty good income and they are probably in their thirties. Accordingly, they need a good gaming monitor, but with a less aggressive design. Our users want a monitor that fits into their interior design, matches their style. They are no longer children,” said Cesar Acosta, lead product manager for gaming monitors at Phillips.
And, of course, the developers of the new Philips monitor and other products of the new line approached the issue of design extremely reasonably. According to research, older gamers (we are talking about users in their 30s) try to avoid the design that gamers are already used to – we are talking about sharp edges, black, red accents, giant logos and an abundance of RGB lighting. At the same time, users still want a high-quality product with high performance, but these two parameters rarely intersect in the gaming product market. It is this problem that the manufacturer decided to fix.

The monitor from the new Evnia line is presented in a white case with a V-shaped stand, which smoothly flows into a rather weighty monitor leg. Thanks to such a simple design, the monitor received a fairly flexible height adjustment system, while the gamer gets a lot of free space on the desktop. Also on the back of the monitor, where the mount goes into the monitor itself, there is an LED panel with Ambiglow RGB and Philips Hue support. This means that the backlight of the monitor can be synchronized with the backlight of the smart home. And, additionally, there are separate “points” with backlight at the back – they can also be configured for different scenarios.
