The Rio Grande do Sul Civil Police made an action on Monday (27) with the objective of dismantling a criminal organization specializing in theft, theft and marketing of luxury pickup trucks. According to the corporation, the group made more than $ 2 million with the crimes.
The operation took place in the cities of Frederico Westphalen, Seberi, São Leopoldo and Canoas, where six arrest warrants and 25 search and seizure were served.
According to the Civil Police, more than 50 vehicles have been stolen by the gang in the last six months. So far, six people have been arrested and one Mercedes A200 has been seized.

The pickup trucks were resold in the parallel market through digital platforms.
According to delegate Luiz Firmino, responsible for the operation, the criminals had technical knowledge and used modern tools to access vehicles.
Authorities follow the investigations to identify other possible group members and buyers who, even inadvertently, purchased adulterated vehicles.
