I plan to close the British garbage training ground, which is lost by the programmer James Hawells with 8,000 bitcoins in the amount of $ 781 million at the current prices, I plan to close and build a solar power plant in its place.
The municipal Newport Council plans to complete the operation of the training ground in 2025-2026 by the financial year. Representatives of the municipality believe that the garbage training ground has exhausted its resource, and expenses on it are unreasonably large for the budget. For this reason, it was decided to receive additional income by building a solar power plant in its place.
Recall that IT specialist James Hawells claims that 8,000 bitcoins that he got in 2009 are stored on the discarded hard disk. According to him, the drive accidentally thrown his ex -girlfriend in 2013.
For many years, he tried to get permission to search for a disk, offering the advice of the share from the found funds in case of success. He even attracted specialists in artificial intelligence who developed him a plan for the search for a disc with bitcoins, who did not require any expenses from the local authorities.
Nevertheless, in January 2025, the court rejected Hawell’s lawsuit, deciding that the case did not have real prospects for success. In October, the Newport Council also noted that excavations are impossible due to environmental restrictions and potential damage to the environment.
