“Garfield: Away from Home” gets a release date for streaming

THE movie “Garfield: Away From Home” had his premiere date on Max announced this Sunday (18) on the streaming social networks — August 30th . The animation produced by Sony Pictures hit theaters on May 1st and was the seventh highest grossing in the world in the first half of 2024, raising around R$1.33 billion.

Based on the famous comic strip by Jim Davis, the film stars Chris Pratt, who voices Garfield — a cat who is torn from his comfortable life and forced to participate in a robbery with his stray cat father, voiced by Samuel L. Jackson.

The plot follows the cat after an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father. Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced out of their perfectly pampered lives to team up on a risky heist.

In addition to Chris Pratt and Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham (“Ted Lasso”), Ving Rhames (“Mission: Impossible”), Nicholas Hoult (“X-Men: Dark Phoenix”), Cecily Strong (“Schmigadoon!”), Harvey Guillén (“What We Do in the Shadows”), Brett Goldstein (“Ted Lasso”) and Bowen Yang (“Saturday Night Live”) also participate in the voice acting.
