Gartner analysts have summed up the results of the last quarter of 2021 and the whole year in the ready-made PC market.
According to Gartner estimates, in the fourth quarter of 2021, 88.4 million personal computers were shipped worldwide. This is 5% less than in the fourth quarter of 2020. This is the first year-on-year contraction after six quarters of continuous growth. In total, 339.8 million PCs were shipped during the year. This figure corresponds to the growth of the market compared to 2020 by 9.9%.
Gartner experts call Lenovo the largest supplier of ready-made PCs, which shipped 84.017 million PCs in a year, increasing shipments by 10.4%, which led to a slight increase in its share – from 24.6% to 24.7%.
HP, the second largest company, was able to increase shipments by 8.8%, which is less than the growth of the market as a whole, so HP’s share compared to 2020 decreased from 22.1% to 21.8%.
Dell ranks third. This manufacturer was able to increase supplies by 17.6%, resulting in an increase in market share from 16.4% to 17.6%.
Apple is in fourth place. This company increased deliveries by 18.1% over the year, which, by the way, is the best indicator in the top five. As a result, Apple’s share increased from 7.1% to 7.6%.
Acer Group closes the top five. She managed to increase shipments by only 8.3%, so that the share of Acer Group decreased from 7.3% to 7.2%.
