Families affected by the rains in Bahia and Minas Gerais will start receiving the Gas Aid, in the amount of R$ 52, as of this Monday (27). The federal government announced that the residents of 100 affected municipalities will receive payment at this first moment.
According to the Ministry of Citizenship, 108,368 families are members of the AuxÃlio Brasil Program that will receive the Gas Aid until next week.
The municipalities that declared a state of calamity due to the rains are listed on this link from the Ministry of Citizenship. Eligible people will be informed through the AuxÃlio Brasil and Caixa Tem program applications.
The remaining 5,471,632 families that are eligible, but who are outside the affected cities, will receive payments retroactively from January 18, following the regular payment schedule of AuxÃlio Brasil.
Gas Assistance
After approval of the program, the government informed that only families registered in the Single Registry with a per capita income less than or equal to half the minimum wage, members of the Continuous Cash Benefit (BPC) will receive Gas Assistance.
Payment priority will be given to beneficiaries of the new Bolsa FamÃlia with lower per capita income and with a greater number of family members.
The government stated that, despite this initial selection, the program will admit the gradual entry of more families, so that, in September 2023, all beneficiaries of AuxÃlio Brasil will be served.
The payments made by the government’s new social program will not be computed as monthly family income.
“To determine the value of the benefit, the ANP will publish on its website monthly, up to the tenth working day of the month, the average value of the previous six months referring to the national price of the 13kg LPG cylinder”, said the Ministry of Citizenship, in note.
