Gas supplies to France from Germany have been suspended since June 15, French pipeline management company GRTgaz said on Friday, citing the effects of declining Russian deliveries.
“Since June 15, GRTgaz has observed an interruption of the natural flow between France and Germany.
This flow was about 60 gigawatt-hours at the beginning of 2022, which is only 10% of the capacity of the interconnection point “, GRTgaz reports.
He added that he remained vigilant for the coming winter and called on carriers to continue filling their national storage facilities as much as possible.
GRTgaz has reiterated previous statements that it sees no risk to gas supplies to France this summer, as reduced inflows from Germany are offset by higher imports from Spain and increased capacity at methane terminals.
France’s strategic gas reserves are currently at 56%, the gas company added, stressing that usually at this time of year the percentage is around 50%.
