Gas: Interruptions in Norway drive the market – ing

The European natural gas prices had a strong day yesterday, with the Title Transfer Facity (TTF) closing almost 5% higher, the Ing raw material analysts, Warren Patterson and Ewa Manthey point out.

Asian LNG prices are mostly negotiated to a premium on European gas prices

“The interruptions in Norway, a key provider for the EU, promoted the market. An unplanned interruption at the Kollsnes processing plant has been a concern; its duration remains uncertain. Meanwhile, seasonal maintenance is scheduled for this week in some Norwegian fields and facilities.”

“The Infrastructure Europe gas data show that LNG shipments in recent days reached their lowest level since February. The prices of the Asian LNG have been mostly negotiating a premium on European gas prices in recent months. This helps explain the minor shipments of LNG.”
