Gas stations, strike confirmed: it starts on Tuesday at 7 pm and lasts 48 hours

The gas station strike is confirmed. The lockout has been reduced from 60 to 48 hours: it starts tomorrow (Tuesday 24) at 7pm and ends on Thursday at the same time (on the motorway network, on the other hand, it starts and ends at 10pm). The closure will affect all vending machines, even self-service ones.

They will stay only a few petrol stations open, on a provincial basis, to guarantee the minimum services. In particular, the service of a number of will be ensured in urban and extra-urban areas installations equal to 50% of those envisaged on public holidays: individual prefectures will determine those who will be in service. As for the motorways, on the other hand, it will be up to the Regions to establish which petrol stations must remain open: there must be one every 100 kilometres.

The gas station attendants protest «against the shameful smear campaign against the category and the ineffective government measures that continue to penalize only managers without protecting consumers», reads the flyer prepared for distributors by Faib, Fegica and Figisc / Anisa. “To avoid further increases in fuel prices”. And again: «The government, instead of opening up to discussions on the real problems of the sector, continues to speak of “transparency” and “gray areas” only to hide its responsibilities and pollute the debate, suggesting the fault of speculation by the gas station attendants that just don’t exist. “Restoring the truth of the facts therefore becomes a priority, to finally open the debate on the merits”.

Over the weekend, Minister Adolfo Urso had asked for the strike to be revoked: “It’s only damaging to the citizens.” But, according to the main trade associations, «the minister’s statements are yet another demonstration of confusion in which the Government moves in this matter».
