The price of diesel and gasoline is already found above R$ 8 in most states of the country. According to data from the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), in at least 23 states, common diesel (S-500) is already found at this price at gas stations. In the case of gasoline, the fuel was verified above the eight reis in 17 states.

Also according to data from the ANP’s weekly price survey, the cheapest price at which diesel was found in the country was R$ 6.29, in the states of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Rio Grande do Sul comes in third place, with fuel costing R$ 6.39 at some stations.

Based on the ANP bulletin, released last Friday (24), the states with the highest prices in the country are Acre (R$ 8.95), Mato Grosso (R$ 8.91) and Minas General (R$ 8.89).

In the case of gasoline, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Bahia are the three states with the most expensive price found by the ANP. In São Paulo, a liter of fuel costs R$8.89, in Rio de Janeiro, regular gasoline is R$8.69, and finally in Bahia, where the main refinery was privatized, and the fuel was found at BRL 8.54.

In the weekly survey, in São Paulo the cheapest gasoline in the country was also found at R$ 5.99 per liter. In second comes Mato Grosso, with fuel at R$6.30, followed by Amapá, where the minimum price of gasoline was R$6.40.

Since the beginning of the ANP price survey, in 2004, this is the first time that the price of diesel is verified above the price of gasoline, as CNN reported last Friday.

In the survey, the average price of common diesel at the national level was found at R$ 7.56, while gasoline was found at R$ 7.39. The fuel, used in medium and large vehicles, impacts the entire production and logistics chain.
