Gaza: Israel says he had as a military base of Hamas in a new attack

Israeli attacks killed at least five Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, reported health officials from the territory, and the Israeli army, which resumed attacks against the territory, said it targeted a Hamas military site in the north of the region.

Three people were killed in an Israeli air strike in a house in the suburb of Sabra, in the city of Gaza, while another air attack left two men dead and wounded six others in the city of Beit Hanoun in the north, reported health officials.

The Israeli army said he had hit a Hamas site in the northern region of Gaza, where they detected preparations for shots at Israeli territory.

Israel resumed air strikes a day earlier, while both sides switched to blame for breaking the ceasefire agreement and destroying almost two months of truce.

Israeli naval vessels attacked several boats that, according to them, intended to perform “terrorist” acts of Hamas militant groups and Islamic jihad.

Palestinians reported that an Israeli drone fired at various fishing boats on the coast of the city of Gaza, burning several of them.

On Wednesday (19), the Israeli army launched leaflets in areas in Beit Hanoun and Khan Youis in the north and south of the Gaza Strip, ordering residents to run away from their homes, warning them that they were in “dangerous combat zones.”

“Staying in the shelters or on the current tent puts their lives and those of their families in danger, immediately leave,” a leaflet launched in Beit Hanoun warned.

End of ceasefire

Israeli air strikes on Tuesday (18) left more than 400 dead, according to Palestinian health officials, and Israel warned that the attack was “just the beginning.”

Israel and Hamas accuse each other of violating the truce, which has remained widely since January and offered relief to the 2.3 million inhabitants of Gaza, which was reduced to rubble.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he ordered the attacks because Hamas rejected proposals to ensure an extension of ceasefire.

Hamas, which still maintains 59 of the approximately 250 hostages that Israel says that the group has captured in the attack of 7 October 2023, accused the Israeli government of endangering mediators’ efforts to negotiate a permanent agreement to end the fighting.

Hamas authorities said they are still interested in completing the three-phase ceasefire agreement as signed.

Armed men led by Hamas attacked Israel that day, killing about 1,200 people and hostage, according to Israeli counts.

Israel’s campaign in Gaza killed more than 48,000 people, Palestinian health officials report.
