Gaza Strip has an increase in humanitarian crisis as Israel tightens siege: “We don’t have water”

A humanitarian crisis is rapidly unfolding in the Gaza Strip as trapped residents, many without access to food and electricity, face another day of Israeli airstrikes in response to Hamas’ deadly attack on Israel, which killed at least 1,200 people, according to state broadcaster Kan, and took up to 150 hostages.

Nadine Abdul Latif, 13, from the Al Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City, said she and her family were told by neighbors and relatives to flee on Monday (9), after Israel announced it would attack the area.

But they decided to stay because there was nowhere safe to go, she said.

His father, Nihad, has been missing since Saturday (7). He worked in Israel, but after Saturday’s Hamas attack, his family lost contact with him.
