- The GBP/JPY goes back after reaching 196.39, forming a bearish wrapping candle that suggests downward risk.
- A break below 194.22 could open the way to 193.31 Tenkan-Sen and the 200-day SMA in 192.32.
- Alcistas need to recover 195.00 to test resistance in 196.00 and May 196.39.
The GBP/JPY retreated on Wednesday, losing more than 0.82% after reaching a weekly maximum of 196.39 previously during the Asian session. At the beginning of the Asian session on Thursday, the GBP/JPY quote in 194.48 plan.
GBP/JPY price forecast: technical panorama
Despite going back, the upward trend in the GBP/JPY remains intact. However, a setback is on the horizon after forming a sailing graphic pattern ‘bolder envelope’ that could make the pair move down. Even so, a rupture below the minimum of May 14, 194.22 is required for greater confirmation that the pair is extending its losses.
In that case, the following support would be the Tenkan.sen in 193.31, ahead of the Simple Mobile (SMA) of 200 days in 192.32.
On the contrary, if the GBP/JPY invests its course and buyers recover 195.00, the next resistance would be the figure of 196.00, followed by the peak of May 14, 196.39. More profits are expected if the latter is exceeded, with 197.00 emerging as the next potential ceiling level.
