GeForce GTX 1060 for $187 and GeForce RTX 2060 for $437. For a couple of months, the cost of video cards in the US fell by 10-35%

According to the source, if you want to buy a video card, it’s better to wait a little longer: in the US, 3D accelerators have been getting cheaper for several months in a row. The situation is similar in Europe, but now the source cites statistics on the North American eBay catalog.

The table contains data on Nvidia video cards of three generations, and, as you can see, they are all getting cheaper. So, for example, the cost of a GeForce GTX 1060 with 3 GB of memory in the US dropped to just $187 in 2.5 months. Its cost has fallen more than others, apparently due to the very small amount of memory: miners are not interested in this model, but gamers also prefer 3D cards with large memory. The GeForce GTX 1070 and GeForce RTX 2060 also fell in price the most, and the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti least of all.

And although video cards are getting cheaper, while the cost of most models is above the recommended retail mark. If the pace of price reduction continues, then the recommended level will be reached around the summer. By that time, additional factors will appear that contribute to lower prices: Ethereum 2.0 will work with the Proof-of-Stake consensus instead of the current Proof-of-Work, and Nvidia and AMD will come close to the announcement of a new generation of 3D cards.
