GeForce RTX 3090 Ti: 24 GB of memory @ 21 GHz, TDP 450 W and another new power connector. The card is expected in January

The new top-end Nvidia graphics card may not be called the GeForce RTX 3090 Super, as it was said in the latest rumors, but the RTX 3090 Ti. True, this does not change the essence, but it is precisely this name that new data indicate.

The same data is confirmed by the earlier ones regarding the TDP adapter of 450 W! That’s 100 watts more than the current RTX 3090, and it’s not really clear where this huge difference comes from.

The RTX 3090 Ti could also get a new power connector. And this is not about the 12-pin Molex Micro-Fit 3.0 connector that Nvidia uses in the RTX 30 FE cards, but about a similar, but already 16-pin Molex Micro-Fit 3.0 connector. At the same time, practically no one uses the current 12-pin except Nvidia. In addition, it can transmit up to 600 watts of power, so it’s not very clear why you need to change the connector again. However, this is also still unconfirmed data.

Another change is memory. Its volume is unlikely to increase, since the current RTX 3090 has 24 GB. But at the same time, presumably, the frequency will grow to 21 GHz, and the 1 GB microcircuits will be replaced by 2 GB microcircuits. This will also entail a change in the design of the printed circuit board. By the way, the same new 2 GB microcircuits are credited to the upcoming GeForce RTX 3070 Ti with 16 GB of memory.

Recall that in January next year, Nvidia is expected to release both the RTX 3090 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti with 16 GB of memory, as well as the updated RTX 2060 with 12 GB of memory, which will allegedly retail for only $ 300, which by today’s standards very cheap.
