This is the Chirico Estate in Ascea (Salerno), of Silvia Chirico, “Cheese factory” where buffaloes have always been raised to produce amazing products: mozzarella but, in fact, also ice cream. A good and genuine ice cream, just like like Sweet Symphony, with which Silvia Chirico won the competition launched last year for the tenth anniversary of the Gelato Day by Artglace, in collaboration with Longarone Fiere Dolomiti and Italian Exhibition Group. «We had a clue: to propose an ice cream with chocolate and hazelnut. From here I started thinking about a taste that told of my land, Cilento, and my family»Says Silvia Chirico. «I added ricotta, which represents our milk processing business, and dried figs in rum in syrup, which have a double meaning. Figs are a symbol of Cilento and in particular the dry ones were the energy bar of our peasant grandparents who brought them to the countryside along with a loaf of bread. Plus the rum ones are one of my fondest memories because my mother always kept them this way to make them last all winter. It is to my mother that I dedicated this ice cream“.
