General Motors has begun a complete reformatting of the Buick brand. Cars of this brand will receive a new corporate identity and an updated logo in the form of three multi-colored shields lined up exactly in a row. By 2030, the company will completely switch to electric motors and wants to become more attractive to young people.
According to the Autoreview publication, the company will no longer focus on its native American market, but on China, where 829 thousand cars were sold last year (almost 5 times more). Not so long ago, Buick managed to sell more than 1.2 million of its cars a year in China. This success prompted the company to expand its lineup, and by 2025 it plans to sell 12 new models in China, including 5 electric ones.
The first model in the new style was the Buick GL8 Century minivan, but the Electra-X concept electric crossover on the Ultium serial platform aroused more interest. It was developed in China’s PATAC Technical Center and features narrow headlights and a wide, angled grille.

The Electra-X has 21-inch wheels and swing doors, and inside is a widescreen 30-inch Eyemax display, another touchscreen in the center armrest, and a full-width windshield projector. It is also known that the Super Cruise autopilot is provided for this model. The serial Electra-X is planned to be presented before the end of the year.

For the American market, Buick introduced the Buick Wildcat EV concept car, a large sports coupe with four seats. It has raised roof sections for easier entry and exit, a driver biometrics system, 18-inch wheels and a battery charging gauge built into the stern. The interior is similar to the Electra-X, but with a predominance of aluminum trim. There are no other details yet.
