The Federal Police (PF) in Sergipe sent, this Tuesday (21), to the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) a request to postpone the deadline for the investigation launched to investigate the death of Genivaldo de Jesus Santos, in May this year.
The PF requests another 30 days to complete the investigations, “in order to await the presentation of the required expert reports, which are essential for the completion of the investigative procedure”, according to a statement released.
Genivaldo was killed on May 25, during an approach by the Federal Highway Police in the city of Umbaúba, Sergipe.
In videos shared on social media, it is possible to see the victim being trapped in the trunk of the car where he died asphyxiated in a kind of “gas chamber”.
The 38-year-old man suffered from mental disorders, according to family reports. The initial report from the Legal Medical Institute confirmed the death from asphyxia and respiratory failure.
