Geoffrey Pyatt’s visit to Greece and Turkey focuses on energy transition and security

The regional energy transition and energy security priorities will be at the center of the visit to Greece and Turkey by the US Under Secretary of State for Energy Jeffrey Pyatt. The US Deputy Secretary of State will be in Athens from October 8-9, where he will have the opportunity to discuss advancing US-Greece energy cooperation with senior Greek officials, including the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs . In addition, he will meet with energy company leaders to discuss opportunities related to clean energy development and improving regional connectivity. Geoffrey Pyatt’s schedule will also include speaking at an EU-hosted event on diversifying gas supplies in Southeast and Central Europe and promoting the joint US-EU goal of a full decoupling from Russian energy by 2027.
