George Soros on invasion of Ukraine: a start to World War III

THE George Soros spoke at the World Economic Forum in Davos and referred to war in Ukrainestressing that this is particularly important for Europe, as it could be the “beginning of a third world war”, even if it ends soon.

The Hungarian billionaire noted that “Russia invaded Ukraine. This has shaken Europe to its core “and stressed that”the European Union was set up to prevent this. “Even when the fighting stops as it should, the situation will never return to the status quo.”

“Indeed, the Russian invasion can be the beginning “of World War III and our culture may not survive it,” he said.

It is noted that George Soros recently criticized the Russian president, because with an article in Project Syndicate“Putin was a very clever KGB agent, but that does not seem to be the case anymore. Having acquired a certain obsession, he seems to have lost touch with reality. “He certainly did not assess the situation in Ukraine correctly,” he said, adding that “Russia may well lose the war.”

He further added that “as we approach the age of 70, Putin feels if it is going to leave its mark on Russian history, is now or never. But the his perception of Russia’s role in the world is distorted. It seems that believes that the Russian people need a Tsar which he can follow blindly. “This is the exact opposite of a democratic society, and it is a vision that distorts the Russian ‘soul,’ which is very emotional.”
